| 1st July 2007: First Day of Work, On Call First, I think I really must thank Step and Amy who came back to help me out on Sunday. If it werent for them, I would most probably be dead. One houseman on call, 4 wards.... AND the nurses was SUPER SUPER SUPER NICE AND HELPFUL!!!!!!!! They actually know A LOT and suggest treatment plan to me!!! I love them!!! The call day turned out to be ok though I think I only slept for about 15mins x 4. Super ging overwhelmed in the morning, with all the "gung foh" after the rounds: blood labels, ECGs, drips, investigations to order, escort patient to CT/USG, etc. Then there are the millions and millions of ward complaints: HypoK, dizziness, sole pain, chest pain, hypergly (>30!!), chest drain not swinging, patient jau sun ng shu fok, etc..I think the most frequent treatment order I gave for the 30hrs I was on call, was "Keep Observe. Inform if patient deteriorate." Hahahahahhahahahahaha And I actually certified a patient.... it was so sad to see all the relatives around, sobbing, and your job there is to prove that the patient is really dead. I was lucky that I had chances to admit a few cases myself coz there're too many cases and I got to some cases before my case MO did. ^_^ Admit cases doe gei difficult, esp uro cases. I don't even know what I am asking. hahahahahahaha. Also, don't know how to deal with those questions from the patients and relatives, "gum Dr, What is going on with me?". They really look you into the eye and ask you like you know everything. Joke of the day: Patient with HypoK 3.0 Mx: Banana x 1 TDS po Recheck K mane
